This past Saturday, we had a Multi Stake YSA 5K. The Bishop informed D2 she would be running with them. Hubby decided he should run too.
Once again it was a cold morning. We headed over to the stake center and watched as they headed out. There were bikers, walkers and runners.
Hubby and D2 trying to stay warm before starting
Although there was no "official" time, D2 was the first female back in.
Bishop and Hubby, neck and neck. Hubby says Bishop was just keeping pace with him so hubby wouldn't feel bad.

Prom for D3
It's that time of the year again. Prom. This year D3 got asked to two different proms. We have a young man in our ward who attends a private school and his prom was last night.
I am very proud of D3. She stuck to her standards even when it wasn't the most popular thing to do. In the end, three couples went with them (I don't have a group photo yet) and they all had a wonderful time.
Because of time constraints and the fact that she is attending the Cyprus prom in just a couple of short weeks, she wore one of D2's dresses. She still looked absolutely beautiful and mom had a lump in her throat when they walked out the door!

Teaching Moments
Ah warm weather. I LOVE it. I love feeling the sun on my arms; I love to walk barefoot in the grass; I love to go for a walk with Hubby in the evening. I just love it!
Another thing I love; teaching moments. Its time for Only Son to start helping with the mowing. Not to be out done, D5 had to get in on it also.
I am hoping they stay excited about it. With Hubby's new calling the mowing may become a permanent job for Only Son.

The More Things Change...
So here is how things went at our house this past week.
First, Wednesday was my last day of work.
I loved my job but I also knew I was away from home to much and needed to be home more. I still have some classes to finish up but now I am a stay at home mom. Although that is a change after two years, it isn't really anything new, I have been a stay at home mom for a lot longer than that.
On Thursday, we took D1 back up to school.
It has been so nice having her home these last few months but she was ready to go back. I will miss her terribly but we have already done it once and the second time wasn't as bad as the first. (well almost.)
Saturday, I got a phone call and headed up to the Stake Building for a very intense interview with Elder Shumway.
On Sunday, my sweet, wonderful husband was made the Stake President of our Stake.
We will sit alone on Sundays, he will probably miss school plays, Parent Teacher Conferences and spend his vacation days at camps. We are already used to that.
So you know the saying, "The more things change, the more they stay the same"? It has kind-of been the thought running through my head all week.
I am sure that these changes can only bring great blessings to our lives. I am so blessed!

Girls Night Out
D1 is headed back to school this week and she and D2 wanted to do a girls night out.
First we went to Five Guys for dinner and then we rented a movie and stayed up in my room. (if you haven't seen Get Smart, its pretty funny)
I am so glad we did this. We had so much fun just laughing, talking and hanging out. My girls actually like me. Who knew?

5K
This Saturday, Hubby and D1 ran their first 5K. We drove down to Provo in the snow and cold around 6:30 so they could be ready to run at 8:00. Both did very well. Hubby took third place in his division. (not to shabby for never running a race before.) Both of them have trained very hard the last few months and I am so proud of them.
Maybe SOMEDAY I will do one with them. Someday.........
