This past Friday we loaded up the van and headed to Manti. We had a great evening. We had a picnic in the park, the kids played chase and I found this amazing little craft fair to walk through.
Of course the real reason we went down was to watch the Mormon Miracle Pageant. The last time I been down to see it was when D1 was just a new born. It was amazing!

The weather was pretty good. It started out hot then the wind started to blow pretty hard and then it got COLD!! It never rained and I am glad for that.
We had a lot of fun and it was really good to get out and do something as a Family.
On Sunday I drove to Heber with my Mom and two sisters to visit my Grandma. She has been living in California with my Aunt and Uncle and they were all up for the week. I don't get to see my Grandma very often and I miss her so it was so nice to spend a few hours with her.
That was our weekend. Now the girls are leaving for girls camp this week and its back to the normal running and being crazy!

Court of Honor
I am not even going to pretend. I am a bad Scout Mom!!!
Lets face it, I have no idea what I am doing. A friend and I were talking and they should make a Scout Mom for Dummies book. I could really use it. In spite of all that I do wrong, Only Son got his First Class this week. I am very proud of him and very grateful for good scout leaders.
I am learning. Maybe by the time he gets his Eagle, I will have figured it out!

EEEEKK!!!
Here is my tale. Last week, hubby came in and said he saw a snake in the garden. He figured it was about 2 feet long and was a harmless garden snake. I don't like snakes and although I believed him, I was hoping he was stretching the truth a little.
Saturday he and D5 were working in the garden picking peas. They brought the bowl in to show me what they had picked and in the bowl was a snake skin, a very large snake skin. Hubby said they saw the snake again, it was indeed at least 2 feet long and that it had recently shed its skin because here was the old one.
Now not to sound like a total paranoid girly girl here, but I told hubby either the snake stayed or I did but the two of us could not live anywhere near each other. I guess he must love me because a little white later there was a knock on the back door and the Snake was in a bucket.
If you don't believe my tale, her are a couple of photos of D5 holding a now headless snake.
It is almost as long as she is! Now I am just wondering if there are baby snakes out there waiting to seek their revenge. I might have to stay inside.

I Am Bored!!
Its official, school has been out for a total of one week and the "I am bored" has already started.
I took the kids to the library the other day and got them signed up for the summer reading program. The nice thing about the reading program is it is geared for all ages. I even signed up. I am now reading Sense and Sensibility; a book I haven't read since High School and I am really enjoying it.
They also have this fun little Mona Lisa the kids can have the photos taken with.
Tomorrow I think we are going to do the free movie at 5 star. If anyone else knows of some fun ways to entertain kids this summer let me know! I am tired of hearing "I am bored"!!!

Temple Open House
When we were first told that there were going to be two new temples in the Salt Lake area, like everyone else, I rejoiced. When I found out that we were going to be moved out to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple District, however my enthusiasm wained a little.
I LOVE the Salt Lake Temple. As a little girl, I had a picture of it on my wall. I was married there and even though it might sound a little cliche, I was proposed to on temple square (a dream come true!) The thought of leaving the Salt Lake Temple left me a little sad.
Over the last few weeks my heart has changed. When the kids (all but 2) began to prepare and participate in the Temple Celebration, I once again became excited.
Last month hubby and I have been able to guide tours and sit in training meetings. What an amazing experience that had been for both of us.
As I mentioned in my last post, this past Saturday we took all of the kids along with 3 of D1's friends to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House.
This was such a neat experience for us. D1's friends had never been to an open house so it was fun to be with them and see it through their eyes.
I can now honestly say, that although nothing will ever change my love for the Salt Lake Temple, I can truly rejoice in this new, beautiful temple. What a blessing it will be. I am so excited to attend. We have been blessed!
If you haven't gone to the open house yet, please do, you will be glad you did.
I began again to become excited.

Graduations
This has been a crazy yet amazing week. We have had three graduations!
First, last Sunday (may 31) D2 Graduated from Seminary. She bore her testimony and it was so good to hear.
On Friday morning, Only Son graduated from 6th grade. He also gave one of the class speeches. He did a very good job.
On Friday evening was D2's High School graduation. She looked so happy and beautiful!
What else have we done? Lets see; on Thursday we drove to Idaho and back to pick up D1 and 3 friends. Friday was graduations. Saturday I taught a class and then we took everyone to the Temple open house (I will post more photos of that later.) Sunday after church I took D1 and friends back to school and stayed the night. Monday I drove home and on Tuesday we took D2 up to her school to get registered and spent the day there. Today I wish I could say I can relax, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen either.
Oh Well.

Happy Anniversary
Temple Celebration
Let me first start off by saying I am not sure where D4's photo is. I know she was there. I talked to her, I gave her a kiss, I forgot to take her picture. (I am a bad mom!)
Anyway, the temple celebration was amazing! I am so glad that our youth were able to participate in this exciting event.
I hope they learned and understood what they felt. I hope that they continue to keep their focus on the temple. I was so proud of them! What a ride this has been for them. What a blessing it was for me to be there!
PS. Our stake has the BEST youth leaders ever! Thank you!

Feild Trip Days
It's that time of year again. Field Trip Days. Last week I went with D1 to the land field, the park and the downtown library. I loved the library. I had never been to the new one before. I think I am going to take all the kids there one day this summer. Super Cool!
Here are some photos of D1 and friends playing at the park.
